Refund policy
1.1 Warranty, Returns, Replacements and Refunds
We hope that you will be pleased with your purchase from C & M Navigation Systems. However, there may be occasions when you will need to return items to us. Please read our returns policy below. If you wish to return anything to us, please do so by the policy outlined here. This policy does not affect the customer's statutory rights as per the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
1.2 Items Damaged in Transit or Faulty on Arrival Items
If any items were damaged in transit (when they were transported from us to you, the customer), or faulty on arrival, we kindly ask that you report this incident to us as soon as you discover the damage, but no later than 24 hours after signing for receiving the parcel. No claims will be considered valid after this period of 24 hours.
Items should be returned with their original packaging complete with all accessories and documentation. Once received back by us, we will issue a replacement or full refund to you via your original payment method.
1.3 "30-Day Money Back Guarantee"
Our Money Back Guarantee lasts 30 days, just like on major marketplaces such as eBay or Amazon and follows the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
To be eligible for a refund in case you consider that the product isn't exactly what you need, you must contact us within the first 30 calendar days from the purchase, and send the item back in the same condition as you received it. It must also be in the original box and include all the accessories that came with it (including any gift accessories).
If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we cannot accept a return for a full refund anymore. We believe that 30 days should be a reasonable timeframe for everyone to see if the item is what they need or not.
30 Days Money Back Guarantee will be VOIDED if there are signs of negligent use of the product or, damaged plastic frame, damaged screen, damaged ports, damaged camera (if applicable), liquid spillage on circuits (for example spilling your drink on it, etc), unauthorized attempts to open/repair the product, or returning the product with missing or broken accessories, or, returning a different product instead of the one that was purchased initially.
Depending on the damage and whether the product can be repaired or not, we will deduct the repair fees from the amount you paid initially, and we will credit the rest of the amount back to your original payment method. If the product is deemed irreparable, or if the returned item is missing completely or a different product is returned, then we reserve the right to completely refuse the refund.
Also, for products damaged during postage while you return the product(s) - according to our Postage Policy, please be aware that C & M Navigation Systems only takes responsibility for damages caused in transit from us to the customer. It is entirely the customer's duty to ensure that the parcel is secured adequately to reduce the risk of damage during transportation.
If a product is returned damaged in transit, due to incorrect packaging, we reserve the right to refuse a full refund, and a certain amount will be deducted from the total refundable amount, depending on how severe the damage is. This will be communicated to the customer in advance.
Because this risk can't be completely removed, we advise keeping any documentation, receipt or invoice from the courier carrier used to return the product(s), so that you can file a claim against them and receive compensation from the shipping company/carrier, if you believe that the item was damaged while in transit, on the way back to us. This is entirely down to the carrier company you chose to return the product, if they agree to compensate you or if they disagree and C & M Navigation Systems cannot intervene in this process, nor can they guarantee that compensation will be made.
After 30 days have gone by since your purchase, you will still benefit from the 12 calendar-month warranty that we offer (full terms and conditions to qualify for repair or replacement under warranty are explained further down in this policy).
The customer is responsible for return postage fees, and these will NOT be refunded unless otherwise agreed prior to returning the product(s).
You will only receive a refund for the exact amount of money that you paid for the item itself - for example if you paid £90 for the product(s) + £10 for Next Day Special Delivery, you will only be refunded the £90 that you paid for the product/s, and won't be refunded the £10 for the Special Delivery fees paid, as this is solely a customer's choice - we offer FREE tracked postage (3-5 business days Delivery) by default, for every in-store purchase over £10.
For customers outside the United Kingdom, you must ensure that customs documentation is filled in correctly and if required, any Customs Fees or Tax should be paid by the customer, prior to the returned parcel reaching UK territory, or its destination in the UK. C & M Navigation Systems is not responsible for covering any Customs Tax or Fees as a result of shipping to and from the European Union or other Non-EU countries. Any required customs fees or Tax to be paid by C & M Navigation Systems as a result of returning items back to us will be deducted from the refund you would have to receive.
Any eligible refunds will be issued on the original payment source used for placing the order and will be processed within 14 business days, starting from the moment when the item(s) were successfully returned and collected by C & M Navigation Systems.
We will politely decline requests for refunds on a different payment source, method or bank account, other than the original one.
If the item is returned with missing accessories, or with heavy signs of wear or marks, but is still functional, then we reserve the right to offer only a partial refund, depending on how badly the product is affected or what accessories are missing.
If the product arrives back with faults/issues that have not been reported (if applicable) before returning the product(s), and which will affect the product’s functionality, then we reserve the right to completely refuse the refund.
To request a product return, you will be required to get in touch with us via email at contact@cmnav.co.uk or an alternative contact method listed on our website, www.cmnav.co.uk, and provide us with either the order number or the full name and address used to place the order, so that we can identify it and proceed further.
IMPORTANT!
The customer is required to post the product(s) within 14 days from the day when they requested a return. If 14 days have gone by since a return was requested, and the product(s) have not arrived back to us, the customer will not be eligible for a refund.
Once we have received the relevant information and identified your order in the system, we will then provide you with the address where to return the product and further packaging instructions.
Failing to provide any of the above-mentioned pieces of information will result in us not being able to proceed with the return.
We video-record returned parcel unboxing (for full transparency towards our customers and to avoid any unwanted incidents) and test returned items, and if a returned item is found not to be faulty by our technicians, we will return the item to you. In this instance, you will be liable for the return carriage, and the items will not be re-sent until we have received payment equal to the initial carriage cost.
C & M Navigation Systems will not take responsibility for returned products delayed, lost or damaged in transit; therefore, it is advised that you use a secure, tracked postal service, as until the item is received by us, you remain responsible for the item. A suggested service would be at least Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For, which requires a signature upon delivery, or any other tracked service from a courier of your choice. You can also use a non-tracked service, but you will not be compensated in the event of lost or damaged item(s) in transit.
1.4 Klarna instalment purchases
Any orders placed on our website via the Klarna instalment payment option are subject to the same terms and conditions as the rest of the orders paid in full, except for the refunds, which are managed directly by Klarna. C & M Navigation Systems has no control over how the refunds are issued by Klarna since they are a third-party provider.

REPAIRS & REPLACEMENTS
1.5 Items Faulty in Warranty Period
All our devices, except for the ones classed as “Consumables” (example: Car air freshener), “Accessories” or “Sat Nav accessories”, and items sold as "Refurbished", "Open-Box" or "Ex-Display", are covered by a 12 calendar-month warranty which starts on the day the item was purchased.
For "Refurbished/Open-Box/Ex-Display" products, the warranty period is 3 calendar months.
If any of your purchases develop a fault, and it is more than 30 calendar days since receipt, then your item is within its warranty period, and you are entitled to a warranty repair, in accordance with the warranty conditions for the type of product you purchased.
Please note that in some cases it may not be viable to repair the goods, and so where this is the case, you will receive replacement goods instead. In this case, you will be liable for the cost of the return to us, while we will cover the cost of sending the item back to you once repaired or replaced.
On certain occasions, you will not have to return the product at all, if the issue proves to be caused by faulty accessories such as chargers, USB cables, windscreen mounts, etc. We can send a replacement to you, instead, free of charge, if the item is still within the 12 calendar-month warranty.
1.6 Warranty exclusions (Not covered by the Product Warranty)

Accidental damage caused by the user, such as a cracked or visibly damaged screen, damaged charging port on the sat nav unit failing to charge the battery, liquid spillage damaging the circuit board or other components of the device, or accidentally removing or completely erasing
the navigation software from the device, making it impossible to be used.

Signs of a physical shock present on the device, such as a partially destroyed, dented, melted, burnt, or broken plastic enclosure, that could lead to a fault which was reported.

Use of incorrect accessories and chargers, other than the ones supplied and approved by C & M Navigations Systems.
- Any unauthorised attempts to open or repair the device without written approval or guidance from C & M Navigation Systems.
Any items that are out of warranty or fall under the “Warranty exclusions” section and cannot be repaired on warranty, could still be repaired, but for a cost which will be agreed upon between C & M Navigation Systems and the customer, prior to any repairs being carried out.
Any unreasonable request will be politely declined, and any form of fraud or abuse, defamation, threat, or violence towards our staff, be it verbal, physical or written, will not be tolerated and will be reported to the Police and the relevant authorities.
1.7 Items purchased as Certified Refurbished/Ex-Display/Opened-Box
Occasionally, we may sell some third-party products or CMNAV products at auction or discounted. These could either be certified refurbished, "open-box" products or ex-display, used by us to test the software and which cannot be sold as new due to some cosmetic marks or not being in the original packaging. Please note, that occasionally, these products might have missing accessories, but this will be clearly mentioned in the product's description.

Condition of Items:
a. Certified Refurbished Items: Our refurbished items have undergone thorough testing, repair, and cleaning to ensure they are in good working condition. However, please note that there may be some signs of previous use or cosmetic imperfections, and they may not come in the original packaging.
b. Open Box Items: Open box items are typically products that were returned by a customer. They are in excellent working condition, but their packaging may have been opened or show some signs of handling.
c. Ex-Display Items: Ex-display items are products that were used for display purposes or map-testing. They are in excellent working condition but may have minor cosmetic imperfections or missing original packaging.

Sold as Seen:
a. Certified Refurbished Items: Refurbished items are sold "as seen," meaning that you acknowledge and accept the item's condition, including any cosmetic imperfections.
b. Open Box Items: Open box items are sold "as seen," and you understand and accept that the original packaging may have been opened or show signs of handling.
c. Ex-Display Items: Ex-display items are sold "as seen," and you acknowledge and accept any minor cosmetic imperfections or missing original packaging. -
14-Day Money Back Guarantee:
a. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for all certified refurbished, open-box, and ex-display items.
b. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you have 14 days from the date of delivery to request a return.
c. To initiate a return, please contact us via email at contact@cmnav.co.uk, providing a brief reason for the return and we will provide you with detailed instructions on how to proceed.
d. The item must be returned in the same condition as received, with all accessories, manuals, and original packaging (if available).
e. Once we receive the returned item and verify its condition, we will issue a refund for the purchase price, excluding any shipping or handling fees.
f. Please note that we may deduct a restocking fee if the item is not returned in its original condition or if any accessories are missing.
g. The refund will be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase. -
Exceptions:
a. We cannot accept returns for certified refurbished, open box, or ex-display items that have been damaged or altered after delivery.
b. The 14-day money-back guarantee does not apply to any software, consumable items, or products explicitly stated as "final sale" or "non-returnable."
c. Third-party GPS Sat Navs will not be part of our Free Lifetime Map Update policy - this is only applicable to CMNAV Sat Navs, however, we can provide yearly map updates if required, preloaded on a microSD card, for the price of £25 (which includes postage and packaging). - Warranty:
All the Certified Refurbished/Open-Box/Ex-Display products are subject to a 3-month warranty which starts from the day when they were purchased, unless otherwise agreed with C & M Navigation Systems.
We strive to provide accurate product descriptions and clear information about the condition of our certified refurbished, open-box and ex-display items. If you have any questions or concerns regarding a specific product, please contact us before making a purchase. We are here to assist you and ensure your shopping experience with us is satisfactory.
1.8 Repairs and Warranty on Parts Outside the 12-Month Guarantee
If a product requires repair or parts replacement outside of the standard 12-month guarantee period, we provide a 3-month warranty on the specific parts that have been replaced or repaired. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship of the replaced parts from the date of the repair or replacement.
Please note that this 3-month warranty on replaced parts is limited solely to the parts serviced and does not extend or renew the original 12-month guarantee that came with the product when it was initially purchased, therefore, if the device develops a fault that is unrelated to the one for which the repairs were made, this 3-month warranty will not cover it and a repair quote will be made separately.
Additionally, if the repairs or replacement of components are necessitated due to circumstances excluded from our warranty coverage—such as accidental damage, unauthorised repairs, or any other exclusions specified in our warranty policy—this 3-month warranty on repaired or replaced parts does not apply.
According to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, sellers are not obliged to provide a warranty for parts replaced or repaired after the original warranty for the product has expired. However, we choose to offer this additional 3-month warranty for your peace of mind. Please be aware that this warranty for parts repaired outside the 12-month guarantee is limited and strictly depends on the availability of the parts for the product purchased. If a product has been discontinued and parts are no longer produced, we regret that we will not be able to carry out further repairs.
1.9 Second-Hand or Unverified Units
Free technical support, warranty cover, and lifetime map updates are only available to the original purchaser and require either the order number or at least the purchaser’s name and first line of address as verification. Units obtained second-hand (including those sold with vehicles or purchased privately) are not eligible for free support.
For unverified units, I can offer a paid inspection service (£25 payable upfront by card or PayPal), which includes full testing and software review. If any faults are found that require replacement parts or additional work, I will confirm the cost before carrying out repairs. The unit must be sent to me for this service.
