Why these two together
The BASE 5.0 alone is a powerful, complete system — 5kWh of capacity is enough for a long weekend off-grid or several days of selective home backup through a power cut. Adding the matching EB doubles the runtime without adding any complexity. The host’s power management automatically handles charge balancing and discharge sharing across both packs — you don’t configure anything, just plug them together with the supplied link cable.

Extra battery: BASE 5.0-EB (5,048Wh)
The matching expansion battery. 5,048Wh of additional LiFePO₄ capacity using the same automotive-grade cells as the host. Connects to the BASE 5.0 via the supplied link cable for seamless charge and discharge balancing — both packs operate as a single virtual battery, and the host’s app shows combined capacity. AC charging time when paired and connected to mains is approximately 3.5 hours from empty (the host feeds charge to the EB through the link cable). The EB has no inverter or independent output of its own — it’s a pure storage extension that requires the host to function.

The host’s 5kW inverter capacity stays constant regardless of how many EB units are linked — only runtime increases. Everything is plug-and-play; no additional configuration or specialist installation needed.
How it connects together
- Single link cable: the EB ships with a 50cm link cable (80cm including connectors) that plugs directly between the two units
- No configuration: connect the link cable, switch both units on — the host detects the EB and automatically begins charge balancing
- Charging via host only: all charging (AC, solar, vehicle) goes into the host first; the host distributes charge to the EB through the link cable
- Combined display: the host’s display and app show combined capacity once linked, so you see "10kWh" rather than two separate batteries
- Optional longer cables: if you need to position the EB further away from the host (e.g. in a separate cupboard), longer link cables are available separately on our store (1.5m and 5m versions)

To keep things fully transparent, this bundle is supplied and fulfilled by one of our trusted UK-based third-party partners. The components are not stocked directly at our own premises.
- Partner-fulfilled bundle: dispatched directly by the supplier from their own fulfilment operation
- Bundle dispatch: bundles typically ship together as a single delivery, but in some cases components may dispatch separately depending on supplier stock and pallet logistics — tracking details for each part will be provided once available
- Heavy-item / pallet delivery: the BASE 5.0 alone is 51kg, and the EB adds significant additional weight — this bundle ships on a tracked pallet or specialist heavy-freight courier service. Please ensure you have appropriate access for a pallet drop or courier delivery
- 5-year manufacturer-backed warranty on both components. Warranty support, diagnostics and repairs are handled directly by Sherpa or authorised service partners as they are the product specialists
- Same-day dispatch where possible: Sherpa typically dispatches the same day on orders placed before 12pm where stock is held; UK delivery usually 3–5 business days depending on destination
